RE: BESIKTAS OFFER £7.3m FOR ALMEIDA
It is understood that BESIKTAS have offered £7.3m for HUGO ALMEIDA. Millwall feel it appropriate to hold a Press conference to clarify the situation at the club.

Is it true that Millwall will sell HUGO ALMEIDA
CRAIG
"We are cash strapped just now and need to sell a player to balance the books but I can confirm that Millwall will NOT accept the offer from BESIKTAS for Almeida, it would need to be an amount that we simply couldn't refuse as he has been outstanding for us this season".

Can you tell the supporters the financial position the club find themselves in.
CRAIG
"We only have £240k in the bank and this will become in the red after tomorrow night's match. We will sell a player to help our cash flow side of the business, but HUGO will not be the player".

Can you tell us how the finance got to this level, was is bad transfer dealings by the manager, for example
CRAIG
"I had targets to sign for season 9 starting, I had to sell to get finance to buy "older" players in order to get experience for less of a fee to pay. However, we ended up with paying £9m in signings with only £6m coming in. This was due to deals falling through at the last hour, leaving us short in cash flow. Now, the cash flow we had is quickly dwindling away leaving us with no choice but to sell a player"

"We only have 2 players that ae available to sell as all others are on TB (Not incl GK). The 2 players that can be sold to raise cash are MARCHESE & QUARESMA, Both players are on Transfer List and both are playing well for us, which makes it more difficult to sell"
